Dr Partha P. Maitra heads strategic planning for the Crude Oil-to-Chemical or COTC initiatives at the Reliance Industries, India. Strategic planning covers business development for new growth projects and de-carbonisation of the Jamnagar refinery.

He started his professional career at Fluor, Houston, working on energy conservation projects at ExxonMobil’s Baton Rouge and Baytown refineries, and refinery modernization projects at BP’s multiple US refineries.

Prior to Reliance, he developed the detailed feasibility report for the Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals project.

Responsible for the conceptualization, optimization & technology selection for the iconic Jamnagar supersite, comprising of refinery, petrochemicals and gasification.

Dr Maitra has Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, USA, MS from Rice University, USA, and B. Tech. from IIT, Bombay.
