Susan Hughes was named President of Emerson’s Automation Solutions business in Asia Pacific in 2020 and is based in Singapore. In this role, she oversees business platform operations and sales across the region. She has been with Emerson for more than 18 years and has worked in a variety of different functional groups including Engineering, Marketing, Operations and Sales.  Susan has been located in 7 different cities across the world with Emerson and is known for her commitment to safety, innovation, and promoting diversity equity and inclusion. 

Prior to this appointment, Susan served as Emerson’s vice president and general manager of the Micro Motion brand which makes Coriolis mass flow meters. She was also vice president and general manager of the TESCOM brand which makes high pressure regulators, serving a variety of industries.

From 2008 to 2013, Susan held various management positions at Emerson businesses in China, including starting up an engineering and product marketing center for Emerson’s Micro Motion and Rosemount brands in Nanjing.  She also served as the plant manager for the Fisher brand in Shanghai and still considers being a plant manager one of her most rewarding assignments.

Susan holds bachelor’s degrees in math and Chinese from Grinnell College and an MBA degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
