Mr. Pankaj Kumar Goswami an alumnus of Assam Engineering College, Guwahati is the Director Operations of Oil India Limited (OIL), India’s second largest National Exploration & Production Company.
As Director Operations, he looks after the entire gamut of Oil India’s production & transportation activities and the Company’s renewable portfolio.
He is also a board member of international joint venture companies such as WorldAce Investments Limited, Cyprus; JSC Vankorneft, Russia and LLC TYNGD, Russia.
A Mechanical Engineer with impeccable experience and expertise of more than 34 years in the field of oil & gas production activities, Mr. Goswami has conceptualized many out-of-box ideas, which greatly helped in maintaining Oil India’s production profile from the very old and mature oil fields of Assam. Mr. Pankaj Kumar Goswami has a rich portfolio of diverse roles spanning from strategy formulation, business development and upstream asset management.
He is a hard-core Oilman with deep understanding of geology, drilling, production and transportation activities in some difficult exploration terrains in the country with a specific reference to Northeast India. He is also credited with conceptualization and implementation of a number of projects for enhancing production of oil & gas. Under his guidance, OIL has embarked upon various IOR/EOR techniques like Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) in Rajasthan and Polymer Flooding, Low Salinity Water Injection (LSWI) in the matured fields of Assam.
Mr. Goswami is leading the next phase of growth with a focus on driving Production Volumes and realizing full potential through cutting edge technical solutions, robust assurance frameworks and leveraging business partnerships, while maintaining the highest levels of safety, sustainability, and governance.
He is also leading the race for energy transition in the company by developing a long-term roadmap to achieve net-zero GHG emission by year 2040 with low carbon initiatives, alternative fuels, waste to value addition and renewable schemes /projects including CCUS (carbon capture Utilisation and storage). He was instrumental in setting up the country’s first Green Hydrogen Plant at Jorhat.
A thorough technocrat, Mr. Goswami has participated in several technical conferences relevant to the energy industry both at national and international level.
