Shiv Anant Tayal is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, 2012 batch from Chhattisgarh cadre and currently on inter-state special deputation to Jammu & Kashmir and posted as Managing Director, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (JPDCL), Govt. of J&K. He has more than a decade of experience in administration in Govt. of Chhattisgarh and Govt. of J&K and has worked across diverse domains spanning energy, Agriculture, Food and Civil Supplies, Panchayat and Rural Development, Skill Development, district administration, Municipal Corporation. He has been the State Nodal Officer for PMUY scheme and the Project Director of CHIRAAG programme in Chhattisgarh which is a USD 238 million project co-financed by the IBRD (World Bank) and IFAD.

He holds a B.Tech & M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering from IIT Bombay and has a research experience at NTU, Singapore. He is an avid reader, quizzer, traveler, technologist with interests in chess, cricket, defence & foreign policy.
