P S Ravi is Head (Renewable Energy), of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, a Maharatna, the second largest energy PSU in India and a Fortune 500 Global Company.

He is a Mechanical Engineer with Masters in Financial Management.  He joined BPCL in 1987 and started his career as procurement officer in Materials Department. During his career spanning over three decades in Oil Industry, he has handled a variety of roles comprising of Materials Management, Maintenance Engineering, Operations Management and Marketing Management.  He has held various leadership positions in both Sales and Operations like Installation Manager, Territory Manager, Head of Highway Retailing, Head of Central Procurement Organization, Regional Head of Retail for Western Region/ Southern Region.  

At present he is heading Retail Business of Bharat Petroleum for the last 3 years. Retail business is the largest business unit of BPCL, contributing to about 70% of the revenue of the organisation. As head of Retail Business, he is responsible for all the entire retailing value chain of transportation fuels i.e. Sourcing, Storage, Distribution / Logistics, sales and marketing of Motor Spirit (Petrol), High Speed Diesel (HSD), Auto LPG, CNG through a network of Retail Outlets. With world taking about energy transition and renewables, he is driving the key initiatives in the business for leveraging the energy transition opportunities through electric mobility value chain and LNG as transportation fuel. On the renewable front, he is leading the industry group for improving the ethanol blending percentage in the country and is responsible to create capacities in the country so as to achieve the vision of 20% ethanol blending from currently 10%.

Overall, as head of the largest business unit, Ravi is responsible for building shared vision and drawing out strategy for realizing the business vision for market leadership well into the future.
