Anil is Founder, CEO & MD of Greenko Group which is one of the World’s leading Energy
Transition and Decarbonization solutions company, with an installed Renewable Energy capacity of ~7.5 GW across Wind, Solar and Hydro capacities with presence in 15 states in India. Projects of 50 GWh of storage are planned to be operational by 2025. Additionally, another 50 GWh of storage are planned in the subsequent years taking total storage capacity to 100 GWh.

Further energy from these assets will be digitally managed via a cloud-based platform.
To enable deeper decarbonization Greenko is foraying into green molecule sector. Primarily leveraging energy storage and also partnerships with world renown technology firms like John Cockerill for electrolysers and Technip for engineering, Greenko aims to be amongst the lowest cost producer of Green Hydrogen in the world. Greenko will establish electrolyser Giga factories capable of delivering 2 GW per annum of electrolyzers. Additionally, Greenko will establish green Ammonia production capacity of 2 mtpa within the next 4 years.

Greenko has invested over US$7.5 billion; with Equity of over US$2.5 billion and Global Green Bonds of over US$5.0 billion over the last 10 years and today produces 18 BU’s (1~1.5%) of India’s total energy production. Greenko is majority owned by two of the world’s largest Sovereign Wealth Funds, Government Investment Corporation (GIC) of Singapore and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) of Abu Dhabi, UAE along with Orix Corporation, Japan and the Founders Anil Chalamalasetty & Mahesh Kolli.

Anil is a first-generation Entrepreneur and a business innovator. He along with his friend and co founder Mahesh Kolli has successfully founded and developed multiple platforms in Information Technology, environmental Technologies, Clean Energy and Urban Infrastructure sectors over the last 15 years. They believe in creating essential infrastructure integrated with emerging technologies that have a lasting social impact while contributing to the growing demands of India as a nation.

Anil represents and leads various industry forums to liaise with regulatory authorities and policymakers to ensure the development of the clean energy sector in India. He is a part of various energy and tech forums globally and adapts innovative technologies to enhance business efficiencies. Anil has made his mark in the Indian Energy Sector by co-founding Greenko Group, a focused clean energy company in 2006. Greenko is now creating a digitally enabled clod energy platform which will help integrating renewables as mainstream energy in the grid.

Anil was born in the coastal town of Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He is a graduate in
Computer Science and received a Masters degree from North West University, UK. Anil worked in the IT sector for 4 years in India and UK, developing financial products before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey. He has been conferred with several awards such as "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" from Andhra Pradesh for his outstanding achievements in the field of Business and South Indian Business Achievers Awards in association with Ernst & Young for being the leader in the “Construction & Infrastructure” category.
